Robbie would have been happy had I left him alone with my iTouch all weekend...
The girls would have stayed in the pool all day (except, of course, to get out and jump off the diving board) had they not been tempted by the carnival games, face painting, crafts and ice cream...
Saturday night, the kids really got into the 4th of July spirit. At every meal, the utensil were wrapped in a napkin and held together with some red, white and blue creation. These were a highlight of the day. Padyn and Katelyn started collecting them, so by dessert time, we had quite an array. Robbie preferred the red ribbon and willingly let Daddy's cousin (in the background) tie it to his hair. Shocking, really. I couldn't believe how long he kept it in.
Katelyn was quite taken by these little streamer things stuck onto long toothpicks. She had to have them in her hair. Well, I told her that the only way she could get them in her hair was to have a ponytail. So the girl who has REFUSED to do anything to her hair for the past 8 months willingly let me put it in a ponytail so she could insert these sticks. And can I just tell you that for the next 4 days she asked me to put a ponytail in? Even without the sticks! But it only lasted for 4 days....But isn't she so adorable with her hair back? I wish she wasn't so crazy...
Padyn preferred the curly ribbon to the sticks. Smart girl. I wouldn't want pointy sticks in my hair, either...
Oh, and Robbie really liked these glasses. (Especially the arm of them which he kept ripping off and asking me to fix.) With the ribbon in his hair, he was ready to party...
Happy (not quite) Friday.
